A hot cup of coffee in front of a warm fire can have some very green implications. Java logs and other firelogs are being made from recycled products like sawdust and coffee grounds. The JavaLog, made in Canada, has helped divert about 22 million pounds of coffee waste from landfills last year. Consider purchasing "green" firelogs that are held together with biowax and contain no petroleum byproducts. Those held together with petroleum wax emit more CO2 and may pose some possible health risks.
